Calling all young writers in Kindergarten through 8th Grade! Celebrate Riverton’s 175th Anniversary by sharing your voice through poetry.

Entry Requirements:

• Deadline: Friday, May 15 at 11:59pm

• Participants must live in or attend school in Riverton

Poem Guidelines:

• Theme: What Riverton Means to Me

• Must be an original work (no AI use permitted)

• Any poetry style welcome (rhyming, free verse, acrostic, haiku)

• Length Limits:

  • K-2: up to 8 lines

  • Grades 3-5: up to 16 lines

  • Grades 6-8: up to 24 lines

Prizes and Recognition:

• Each age group will have 1 winner.

• Winners are invited to participate in the parade as Junior Parade Marshals and each poem will be published in the 4th of July Ad Booklet!

All entries will be judged based on theme & creativity with bonuses for Riverton history, landmarks, or traditions
