There is a $10 nonrefundable fee to register.

Monday, July 4th, 10am

PARTICIPATE BY ENTERING A FLOAT

TO THE FLOAT WITH THE MOST CREATIVE, ORIGINAL THEME

( No advertising, company signage, or promotions permitted )

All participants must be on the riverbank not later
than 9:30 a.m. prepared to march in the parade.

LINE-UP INFORMATION
Bikes, Strollers, Kiddie Cars - Baptist Home Driveway

Floats - First Block of Lippincott Avenue facing the river.

Classic Automobiles - MUST BE 25 YEARS OR OLDER!
River side of riverbank south of Lippincott Avenue. Cars newer than 1985 must wait until they are old enough to participate! Commercial vehicles advertising products or services prohibited.

Fire Companies - Bank Avenue north of Main, facing south.

Parade Dignitaries - Councils, Clergy, County/State Officials • Meet at the foot of Main Street on the south sidewalk.

Marching Bands & Musical Groups - Location will be made by arrangement with the parade coordinator.

All Other Groups / Individuals Not Listed - Look for location signs on riverbank and/or seek out a parade offical for assistance. Parade officials will be walking the riverbank the day of the parade and will be happy to assist you.

Age Categories
CATEGORY ONE: Ages 5 through 10 years.
CATEGORY TWO: Ages 11 years to 17 years.
CATEGORY THREE: Adult Class ( No prizes awarded )
TRIATHALON: ( No prizes awarded )

Official Rules:
A. The vehicle must be between 3 to 8 feet in length.
B. Driver must be seated.
C. Helmets and Seat Belts required.
D. All vehicles need a functioning brake.
E. No Skateboards, Bicycles or Skooters.
F. No powered vehicles.
G. Only one person (driver) allowed in vehicle.
H. Each vehicle may be entered in only one category.
I. Must have at least 4 wheels (max. wheel diameter: 10 inches)
JUDGES HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO NOT ALLOW
A VEHICLE TO RUN IF THEY FEEL IT IS UNSAFE.
Please build your racers for safety!

Great Annual Riverton Raft Race
July 4th - 4:30 pm check in time - 5:30 pm starting gun
Bank Avenue North of Riverton Yacht Club

AWARDS
The Iron Pier Trophy
The highest honor, awarded to the craft with the
best harmony of creativity & engineering.
Chosen from the first fifteen rafts to finish.

The Glamour Award
Awarded to the best dressed crew.

The Flotsam & Jetsam Award
Awarded to the raft more likely to
cause a spectacle than win the race.

Tom Sawyer Award
Awarded to the most creative junior raft that
finishes the race, open to ages 12 to 18.

Sadie Hawkins Award
Awarded to the most creative raft with an
all women crew that finishes the race.

Riverton 4th Triathlon
Awarded to the most creative raft that participates in the Parade, the Downhill Race, and the Raft Race.

* No First to Finish Award *

RULES
— Safety —

• All participants must wear U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejackets during the race.
• All participants must wear shoes or sandals at all times before, during, and after the race.
• For every two crew members under twelve, there must be one adult on the raft.
• Anyone acting without regard for the safety of others and themselves, will be disqualified and required to leave the race. This includes all fireworks.

— Construction of Rafts —
• All rafts must be homemade.
• Any type of boat or surfboard is not permitted.
• Each raft must carry a minimum of four passengers.
• Rafts must be human powered.
• Commercially manufactured paddles are not permitted.
• Oarlocks are not permitted.
• Parts and materials commercially manufactured specifically for nautical purpose are not permitted.
• All rafts must have a flag staff to fly the Raft Race flag while finishing.
• The removal of the raft rubbish and raft itself are each team’s responsibility immediately following the event.
